A Complete Guide on PICME Login Registration, Eligibility, and PICME Number For Pregnant Women in Tamil Nadu

The Tamil Nadu state government launched the Pregnancy and Infant Cohort Monitoring and Evaluation (PICME) program to support pregnant women living in the state. The primary target of this program is to take proper care of expectant mothers when they need health services to get their required benefits regarding pregnancy. In this blog, we will provide important information on how to register, PICME Login, and check eligibility.

What is PICME?

The PICME login system helps pregnant women of Tamil Nadu to monitor their and their babies’ health. PICME means Pregnancy and Infant Cohort Monitoring and Evaluation. During the gestation period, mothers along with children should be monitored and can take necessary health care facilities under this system. Further, pregnant women can also avail of any kind of government program or facility and a birth certificate will also be issued to a baby.

A unique RCH ID is given to every registered mother. The ID is essential in accessing healthcare services and the birth certificate. The system contributes to promoting safe pregnancies as well as valuable health support during maternity.

Importance of PICME

  • Ensures Constant Healthcare: PICME ensures expectant mothers receive thorough, ongoing medical care throughout and after their pregnancy. By tracking doctor’s visits, shots, and other crucial medical procedures, the system lowers the possibility of problems for both the mother and the child.
  • Tamil Nadu govt issues a birth certificate. RCH ID is required, so it is important to register with PICME, which is mandatory for expectant mothers as it will give them all the legal documents for the child.
  • Access to various government schemes, such as the Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy Maternity Benefit Scheme, is available only after registering with the PICME. This scheme provides monetary benefits during pregnancy, thereby ensuring that the eligible beneficiaries are supported in all ways.
  • Health authorities will be able to identify high-risk pregnancies for both mother and child through the system, ensuring that women receive speedy help to prevent complications in childbirth.
  • PICME has reached out to the 108 Ambulance Service and the Emergency Management and Research Institute (EMRI) for better support in emergencies. It is especially crucial for pregnant mothers when they are on the verge of delivery.
